The 2009 model of the AF Elite fencing shoes are a great looking basic fencing shoe. The wrap over toe are protects against wear on the back foot from aggressive lunging. If you have a powerful lunge, we do recommend that you purchase a hard heel cup to provide extra cushioning for your heel. (We've found that all of the fencing shoes in the sub-100 range need the heel cup.)
