Description

This limited edition sculture series is offered up by Master Blacksmith Guy Sabrie.

"The Foil Series" is inspired by the fluidity and motion of the sport of fencing. The artist was recently comissioned to create tropies for an area tournament. Using broken blades for raw material, he sought to forge them into the same graceful lines that they trace in the air when in the hands of skillful competetors. The steel moved so beautifuly that he pushed further into specific movements and phrases. His love for the sport and his love for steel merged into a strong desire to explore many of the more subtle aspects of fencing -- which gave birth to this limited edition series of artworks.

Each hand-crafted peice is forged from raw steel and broken blades. Each unique piece is numbered, signed by the artist and identified by the name of the thought or movement that inspired it.

Only 100 will be producted: 001-039 will feature a sateen black finish; 040-069 will highlight a brush polish; and 070-100 will chromatic temper color.
