As the 285 mask but made of uncoated stainless steel with a Lamé bib. The use of a non conductive plastic visor is by the FIE and is entirely legal at all levels of competition and reduces the target area of the fencer!

The shell has been redesigned to give better air flow and the polycarbonate layer is treated with an anti mist coating invented for use on jet pilots visors.

The other overriding advantage of the VISION 2000 is the thin, replaceable outer layer of clean polycarbonate (code 285VN). The outer "scratch" layer not only provides a cheap way of keeping the visibility crystal clear, but also gives essential protection to the main "safety" layer of 3mm, thick polycarbonate which remains scratch free and therefore safe.

Examination of other types of transparent masks shows a tendency for failure and stress cracks develop from fixing holes drilled into the visor - the need for such potential failure points has been designed out of the VISION 2000 - the Leon Paul visors are made without fixing holes.

This mask is fitted with the X-Change system, which allows you to completely remove the bib in a matter of seconds. The internationally patented X-Change system is a completely new approach to mask design; it allows the inner edge of the bib to be slotted securely into the aluminium extrusion on the mask where it is then locked in place.
