This french grip is a standard sized french grip made from durable rubber over an aluminum core.  This makes the grip much more durable and moves the balance point of the weapon back to your hand.  Because of the heavier french grip shifts the balance point of the weapon into your hand, most fencers realize an increase in point speed and accuracy.

This french grip weighs in at 66 grams vs. 28 grams for the plastic core french grip.
